Research Overview
Cagrilintide (CAS 1415456-99-3), known in development as AM833, is a long-acting synthetic analogue of human amylin — the 37-residue hormone co-secreted with insulin by pancreatic beta cells. Native amylin aggregates readily and has a half-life measured in minutes; cagrilintide substitutes residues to suppress that aggregation and carries a C20 fatty diacid chain that drives reversible albumin binding, which is what extends its duration.
In published pharmacology it is characterised as a non-selective agonist across the amylin and calcitonin receptor family (AMY1-3 and CTR). It is studied both alone and alongside GLP-1 analogues, which makes it a frequent comparator in metabolic receptor assay panels next to the incretin analogues.

Handling and storage
